Introduction
Self-Service is a tool that allows users to update specific sections of their website. Below are instructions for using, and supporting self-service.
Self-service is built on the WebVitals platform and can be accessed at http://webvitals.autovitals.com. Users can log in with their Google accounts which have previously been assigned access through BCP.
How to log into WebVitals
- Go to https://webvitals.autovitals.com
- Click Sign in With Google
Note: The Google account you must log in with by default is the email address you've configured as your Failsafe email address located in Shop Settings → Inspection → Shop Mgmt →Gmail Account as shown below. For how to navigate to your Shop Settings page, see here.
For All Sections

The page can be enabled or disabled on the website using the ‘Enable Page’ toggle

Clicking ‘Save’ will publish changes to the website immediately. Simply refresh the website page, and your edits will be live

Images can be no larger than 500kb. Dimensions differ by page, but any page with a main page image should be approx 900x600. Other dimensions will display, but may not display in an ideal fashion.
FAQ
The FAQ section of Self-Service will update the /FAQ.html page on a shop’s website.
To add or edit a FAQ page:

Toggle Enable FAQ page to ‘on’

Create a page title. This will be the H1 on the page

Add an image. This will be the main page image - Max 500kb. The dimensions are flexible

Create your questions and answers

Each question should have a corresponding answer

Question/answers can be moved up or down in priority with the arrow buttons.

Question/answers can be deleted with the 'x’ button

When you have made the edits you want, click the ‘Save’ button at the bottom of the page. Updates will be made immediately on the website.
Specials
The specials section of self-serve will update the specials page of the website immediately upon clicking ‘Save’
To add, or edit specials:

Toggle the page to ‘On’ if not enabled already

Enter a page title. This is the H1 on the page

If it is a NAPA shop, that wants the NAPA quarterly special, toggle ‘Show Standard NAPA Special’ to On
-
To create a special:
-
Enter a title for the special. This will be the headline on the coupon
-
Enter a description for the special
-
Add any fine print or restrictions
-
Upload an image if desired (500KB restriction)

Select a date for the special to expire.

Click ‘Save’ at the bottom of the page

Specials will be shown in order of their entry into the tool. Order can be changed by using the up/down arrows.

A special can be removed by clicking the 'x'
- You cannot schedule a special for the future. The moment you create the special, it will be live on the website, even though you have a start date.
Blog Posts
The Blog post section of the Self-Service Tools allows a user to post, or edit an existing blog post on the blog page of their website.

To enable the page, toggle the Enable blog page to ‘On’

A new post can be created by clicking ‘Add Post’. From there you’ll be able to:

Add text

Format text with a rich text editor

Enter a posted date (The date that shows that the blog post was posted to customers)

Enter an author
-
Enter a Tag/Category
-
Toggle the post to display on the page, or to not be visible
-
Upload and insert an image into the post
-
To add an image, upload your image by clicking on the thumbnail icon
-
Insert the corresponding variable into the text where you want the image to display. The variables are [BlogImage1], [BlogImage2], [BlogImgage3].

The image should be below 500kb.

Images are not restricted by ideal dimensions, but some dimensions may not appear favorably depending on the content.

Save Changes - This will post the blog to the site immediately, on the blog page.

Staff Page
The staff page section of the self-service tool allows a user to add, edit and remove the staff page from a website.
A user can add or edit a staff page:

Toggle the Enable Staff Page to on
-
Enter a Page title. This is the H1 on the page

Enter the main page image. Often times this is a team photo or a facility photo
-
Enter main page text. Often times this is a paragraph about how awesome the team is
-
Add, edit, or remove up to 15 members of their team
-
Enter first name last name (This could also be first name and last name in one field, and their job title in the last name field)

Add a bio or description in the Bio field
-
Add their image. Images should be less than 500kb, in jpg format. They should be approx 300px by 300px. Larger images will be automatically sized down

Change the order in which members are displayed. The lower the priority, the higher on the page they will be displayed.
Announcement Bar
The announcement bar is a banner that appears throughout the site. It can highlight special offers, important messages, and other information that needs to be front and center.
To enable or edit the announcement bar:

Toggle Enable Announcement Banner

Enter the text in Banner Content

Format text with a rich text editor
-
Select the banner color
-
Add a button
-
Enter button text
-
Add a URL for the button
-
External URLs open in a new tab, and should have the full URL entered

Internal URLs should be entered as ./page.html. The browser will navigate to the page

Add a close 'X' which allows a user to close out the banner
-
Save changes. Clicking the ‘Save Changes’ button will immediately publish changes live to the website.
File Library
The File Library is a tool to store, and transfer images and PDFs from the client to AutoVitals.
To use the DS.X File Library

Click Choose File, or drag the file into the box at the top

Once the image is uploaded, click the name field below the image and edit the name

The image will display the image type, dimensions, and file size
-
Clicking into the image will display the same info, but allow a better look at the image

When you hover over the image, you can copy a link to the image to be used in custom pages
-
The web optimized link uses the file name in the URL
-
The source link is a non-web optimized URL
-

Selecting the check box in the upper righthand corner of the image allows a user to delete the image. Additionally, you can click ‘Select all’, or ‘Deselect all’

Entering a search term in the Filter field will show only files with that term in the file name.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: I made an update on my website, and it is not showing. What should I do?
A: Send a request to webupdates@autovitalsinc.com. There are a few reasons why this may be happening. Our design team will review and either enable self-serve or provide a more detailed explanation.
Q: Can I edit pages on my site that are not featured in the self-serve section?
A: Not at this time. If you have a website update request that is not served by self-serve, send it to webupdates@autovitalsinc.com and our design team will manage your request.
Q: I manage multiple shops, but only see one shop when I log into WebVitals. How can I access my other locations?
A: Send a request to webupdates@autovitalsinc.com, and we can provision your login with access to your other locations.
Q: The image I am trying to upload to one of my pages through self-serve is not uploading.
A: The max file size is 500kb, and the file type must be jpg, or png. Please verify the image meets those requirements. If you have any questions about file type or size, contact your client marketing advisor, or webupdates@autovitalsinc.com
