Time Expectations
The point of sale change is typically completed within 1 business day but can take up to 3 days in the case of any rare complications.
What Data is Carried Over to AutoVitals?
Are customer communication preferences preserved if a shop changes their POS?
- Yes, text message opt-ins and email preferences for the customer will remain the same.
What else is copied over for the shop during a POS change?
- Inspection results and vehicle images for Closed ROs (only).
- Settings (personal codes, pictures, logout time, etc.) for the tech/SA are the same after a PoS change but ONLY IF the employee names before and after the change match exactly (case-insensitive). See chart below for details on scenario.
- Note: Nothing else is retained, most notably all job notes and images will be gone

What to do BEFORE Your POS Change
- Let your Customer Success Advisor know you're planning a POS change as early as possible.
- In your new POS: Import service history from your original POS with the original RO #s. If this is not completed, you may be missing data in AutoVitals.
- In your original POS: Closeout all open ROs. All information, including inspection results, on ROs that are currently open will be lost. If it is not possible to close all ROs, you will need to save or note down any important information you want to keep on those open ROs. AutoVitals will not be able to recover any data associated with open ROs after the POS change.
