Assigning Work to Technicians
To assign work to technicians, follow these steps:
Drag and Drop Tile
Assign vehicles by dragging tiles to the appropriate technician's column. Click and hold the grid on the side of a tile, then drag it to the desired technician's column.
Work Authorization Pop-up
Upon dropping a tile under a technician's name, a work authorization pop-up will appear.
- If all labor lines are to be assigned to this technician,
- click ASSIGNED UNFINISHED WORK TO [SELECTED TECHNICIAN
- click Apply.
- You can also manually assign individual labor lines if needed.
Reflecting Changes on Tablets
The assigned repair order will now appear on the technician’s tablet as a tile, accompanied by an alert. Technicians can either dismiss or directly open the new repair order.
Prioritizing Repair Orders
Order Tiles
Arrange the tiles under each technician’s column by priority in top-to-bottom order.
Tablet Synchronization
Changes in prioritization will be reflected on the technician’s tablet, showing the updated order of vehicles.
Using the Search Bar
The search bar at the top of the "Today's Vehicle" page allows for quick access to repair orders, customers, or vehicles. Enter the repair order number, customer’s last name, vehicle number, or license plate.
Pop-up Results
A pop-up will display matching vehicles or repair orders. You can:
- Click the RO number to open the repair order in AutoVitals.
- Click the year, make, and model to view vehicle information.
- Click Current Workflow Step to locate it in Workflow view (discussed further in a later video).
- Click on the Last Name to open a communication pop-up and send messages directly.
Help and Support
The "Today's Vehicle" page offers several tools for assistance:
- Help Mode
- Click in the top right corner to toggle Help Mode. This changes the screen color and allows you to hover over icons for detailed explanations.
- Help Center
- Access the Help Center via the menu for extensive articles organized by category.
- Help Button
- Submit a request for help with a question or issue.
