Mastertech is an AI-powered assistant for your shop. It pulls together vehicle service history, manufacturer maintenance schedules and real repair data so your advisors and technicians can find what they need without searching through several different systems.
What's In This Article
What Mastertech Does
For service advisors: Mastertech reviews each vehicle against its maintenance schedule and its service history, then shows you what is overdue and what is coming due soon. You can share that report with the customer before they arrive, and you can look up the parts, labor and common complications for a job while you are building the estimate.
For technicians: Mastertech answers vehicle-specific questions in a chat window such as fluid specifications, torque specs, component locations, repair procedures, wiring diagrams, labor times and trouble-code diagnostics, with the supporting manufacturer documents attached.
For shop owners and managers: Mastertech lets you set your own maintenance intervals so recommendations reflect how your shop actually operates, not only the factory schedule. You control who on your team has access and what level of access they have.
Where the Information Comes From
Mastertech draws on four sources, and it labels which one each recommendation came from:
-
Your point of sale: The repair orders and service history already recorded in your shop management system.
- Note: Mastertech currently supports Protractor, Shop-Ware, Tekmetric, Mitchell1, NAPA TRACS, and YES Prime point of sale systems.
- CARFAX vehicle history: Service performed on the vehicle elsewhere, where CARFAX has a record of it.
- Manufacturer (OEM) data: Factory maintenance schedules, specifications, procedures, wiring diagrams and technical service bulletins.
- The ShopConnect network: Anonymized repair data from other shops using Mastertech, which is what produces real-world parts usage, labor times and common complications for a job.
Mastertech does not invent an answer when the manufacturer data is not available. If it cannot find a specification or a procedure for a vehicle, it tells you rather than estimating one.
Where You Will Use It
Mastertech can be used two ways, and both show the same information:
- On its own, at app.mastertech.ai, in any browser.
- Inside AutoVitals, on the Mastertech tab of a repair order in the Today’s Vehicle Page. This view is locked to the vehicle on that repair order.
