The Overdue Services Report is where Mastertech compares the vehicle's maintenance schedule against everything it knows about the vehicle's history, and tells you what the customer is due for.

Opening the Report
- Open the vehicle, either from your vehicle list or from the Mastertech tab on the repair order in AutoVitals.
- Select Overdue Services.
- If the vehicle has just been dropped off and the mileage on screen is out of date, update the mileage here before reviewing the results.
Reading the Report
The report has three sections:
- Overdue services: One row per service, with how far past due it is. For example, "8,066 miles past due."
- Services up to date: The services Mastertech did not recommend, each with the reason. For example, "Due in 5,000 miles, or 10 months." This is useful when a customer asks why something was not mentioned.
- Recorded vehicle service history: The history the evaluation ran against, with each entry tagged with where it came from. For example, "(CARFAX) Tires rotated at 164,944 miles."
Every service also carries an OEM or Shop badge. OEM means the interval came from the factory maintenance schedule. Shop means your shop configured that interval yourself. If an interval looks wrong and the badge says Shop, it is a setting you can change (see Customizing maintenance intervals for your shop).
Sharing the Report With Your Customer
Select Share report. Mastertech generates a link you can send to the customer from your point of sale, or from AutoVitals.
Tip: Many shops send the report before the customer arrives. It changes the conversation: instead of hearing a list of recommendations at the counter, the customer has already seen what the vehicle is due for and has had time to think about it. Advisors generally find there is less resistance that way, particularly when the customer came in for something unrelated.
Checking the Work Order First
Before you recommend anything, review the Work Order. This prevents recommending a service that is already on the repair order, which is a quick way to lose a customer's confidence.
Where the Findings Go in Your Point of Sale
For shops on Protractor and Shop-Ware, Mastertech writes the overdue findings into the work order automatically, typically within 30 to 60 seconds of the repair order being created. Where those findings appear depends on a setting in your Mastertech account either as a summarized note or as individual line items.
- In Protractor, populating the In Mileage field is what triggers the findings to be pushed. If In Mileage is blank, the findings will not go across automatically.
On every point of sale, the Copy Findings button copies the findings to your clipboard so you can paste them wherever you need them.
